1 Peter 5:10
¹⁰ And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

I lay the bricks down brick by brick
making sure I level my foundation, inch by inch
keeping an eye on what I originally set in my way
though I hear and see them from afar away
step by step, I march on in the toughest direction
where I thought love was an ally, yet it holds the strongest subjection
The heart bears many powers, as well as weaknesses
failing us daily, through the same sequences
It blinds our minds, with false hopes and expectations
those prophetic affirmations adds power to already established frustrations
yes, the heart lies to us all, preparing us for that blow to the ground
MOST times we are not aware until the gunfire sounds
piercing through the soul, killing all hope for redemption
self preservation has become a way of living, we gotta pay close attention
The mind tells us the truth, but because of our hearts misguidance
The mind is forced to freeze the heart, and make it sit silent
Who else will protect us from ourselves and others
We witness daily all that is uttered
the protection of oneself from harm or death
a basic instinct that we all have, but we always seem to give that
power to everyone else
Well, the beast within is stronger than the beast I have been molded to be
The light that shines through me forces my deep rooted glory to be free
I love my brothers and sisters, I just love me that much more
God shows me daily that my life has so much in store
